G-Technology Drive had some problems! The G- Drive arrived on time, but has a few problems. This is my only firewire device on my macmini so no chain to worry about. Yet on cold booting (boot from power down) my computers wireless airport would not work. When I attached the firewire G-Drive after booting the wireless airport worked fine. I suspected a bad cable. This was not the issue. I also noticed the computer on cold boot was slow to start with the drive attached. The icon for the drive was not a standard MAC icon either. I…

G-DRIVE FIREWIRE 800 PORTS ARE MORE RELIABLE THAN LA CIE’S But they all seem to have too much wiggle room. I don’t understand why they can’t have a snug fit. Too many times these types of drive disconnect if you brush against the connecting cord.But I’ve tried both brands and G-Drive is more reliable overall.
